Happy Father's Day!  I was blessed with a father who left us with a love of putting those suitcases in the car and going across the country to see the relatives; who took us fishing in farmers' ponds, at the Lake of the Ozarks, or the cold fast current rivers in Colorado; who took us camping in the high Colorado mountains or along the Smith River in California; who moved us out of the city to raise us in what was the small town of Los Osos, where the sand spit was perfect for dune bugging and the ocean was nature at its best; who picked the most wonderful woman to be our mother; who served his country with honor in World War II going behind enemy lines to open communication for the troops; who raised us with a godly heritage.

I am thankful for my husband who is the father to six and is a godly example for his sons and sons-in-laws.  It is a joy to see these men passing on this heritage to their children.  It is not easy in the enemy's territory to fight to be godly men.  It is tiring, and sometimes they fail, but they don't give up. They all are passing on a heritage to their children knowing they have a father who loves them dearly and a heavenly Father as well.  If you were not so blessed here on earth, cling more tightly to Him: always run to Him, not away from Him.

"A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children."
Proverbs 13:22
