The drama bug has bit my grandkids since they were in a production of Shrek this summer.  Now Noah is looking forward to getting a big part in next summer's production of Mary Poppins.  He was wondering aloud to himself if he could get the part of the little boy under the nanny's care.  His mother said that he didn't look as sickly as that boy in the Disney movie.  He continued to wonder aloud, "I wonder how I can look more sickly..."  Of course his parents and grandparents and aunties all believe he would make a wonderful leading red head little man, but we aren't the ones handing out parts.  Don't we all want the limelight, the headlines, the glory?

Glory.  I came across some notes I'd written in my Bible, Hebrews 1, from an article by William Greathouse: holiness is...1.  separation.  God is 'the wholly other:' the first temptation was 'to be like God,' the original sin.  2.  purity.  Isaiah 6:6 a burning coal, fire, cleanses.  Holiness separates us from sin and separates us to God in sanctification  3.  glory (kabod), burning splendor, radiance, God is light in whom there is no darkness.  Hebrews 1:3, "And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature."  And as Moses saw God's back, His glory passing by, he learned-as we heard today in the sermon-God's nature is revealed in Exodus 34:6 "The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin."  Glory!

Like my husband said in his sermon, "God wants to open your heart big enough to drive His Holy Spirit through."
