"I'm not needy, I'm wanty!"
said a refrigerator magnet
I didn't need or even wanty to pay 5 bucks for.
Yet, we crave.
That was the theme of our retreat this year.
with speaker Tammi Taylor of Idaho.
"An idol is a blind adoration or devotion, looking to another person or thing to provide."
God is not enough.
Idols make us think, "We deserve this!"
"Do you get angry when you don't get it?"
"These people have set up idols in their hearts, and have put right before their faces the stumbling block of their iniquity...
I the Lord will be brought to give him (her) an answer in the matter...
in order to lay hold of the hearts of the house of Israel who are estranged from Me
through all their idols."
Ezekiel 14:3, 7,
Yet it has been God all along who saved us when we were aborted and unwanted in this life.
He saved us and lifted us up.
"I...entered into a covenant with you so that you became Mine," declares the Lord God.
Ekekiel 16:8
It was a beautiful Word!
She also said, "Don't give up on a sister who is still on her journey for healing."
"Be completely humble and gentle;
be patient , bearing with one another in love.
(same word as used in the bearing down of giving birth)
Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit
in the bond of peace."
Ephesians 4:2-3
