I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart,
In the company of the upright and in the assembly.
If you missed church Sunday in our little New Beginnings Church, you missed Freda's testimony,
"in the company of the upright and in the assembly."
She said she was just a country girl raised in Arkansas. Her family had lots of preachers, and she grew up going to church Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night and reading her Bible--or she would be in trouble. One time when Freda was eleven years old, she was going to go to a revival with her cousin and was riding her bike there down a country road. As she peddled her bike along, she found herself talking to God saying that she did all those things, going to church and reading her Bible, but she realized that she had never invited Him into her heart. Right then and there, she stopped her bike and did just that. She said He filled up her whole heart. When she arrived at the revival that night, Freda told the preacher what she had done, and then he told the congregation . The next day at her country school in the cafeteria where prayer was said over them at lunch, she raised her hand afterwards. When she was called upon, she asked if she could go up front and say something. With permission, Freda went and told her whole school what she had done, asking Jesus into her heart. With all her heart. Giving thanks in the camp meeting company and school assembly.
The pastor remarked, one of the joys of her testimony was looking on the glow of her beloved husband of over sixty year's face as she shared this story. No wonder this feisty lady isn't afraid of speaking out in church, bless her heart.
When's the last time you did that? When's the last time I did that, giving thanks publically with my whole heart? I'm glad for this forum to use for sharing my daily devotions so that I too can do this, giving thanks in front of ya'all.
See, I can keep it short and sweet once in awhile, once in a long while, instead of my usual verbose meandering!
