HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

On this wonderful day, while we're busy stuffing a turkey before family arrives, I will repost many of my favorite Pinterest Thanksgiving posts with a little miracle cat story thrown in...

IT'S NOT SO MUCH ABOUT WHAT
YOU ARE GRATEFUL FOR,
BUT WHO YOU ARE GRATEFUL TO.

And finally, a little miracle cat story for your Thanksgiving.

My granddaughter Laura loves cats.  However, when it came time to move, her cat Jennifer went missing.  Since we live down the street, my daughter asked us to keep a look out for her.  She said, "But since she's been missing for a week or so, I think maybe she got in someone's moving trailer and got trapped.  When their moving day came, there was still no sign of Jennifer the cat.  After three to four weeks past, the children were outside playing and heard the unmistakable sound of a cat crying in their camp trailer, the one my son-in-law had loaded with stuff from their tool shed before the big move and parked at his parents' house.  Jennifer had gone without food or water for those weeks and survived.  When found, she tried to purr, but was too weak.

Trying to revive her with food and water, which she quickly consumed, didn't seem to help.  So the family concluded that the only kind thing to do would be to put her to sleep.  Trying to explain that to their second grader, Aiden exclaimed, "What's the use of a cat if it's only going to sleep all the time!"  Amidst the families' tears, the vet examined Jennifer, ran some tests, and said that amazingly none of the cat's vital systems had  shut down.  He sent them home with medicine and special food which soon perked Jennifer up.  The vet said it was impossible for her to have survived that long (oh, ye doubter of their word).  He said she should be in the Guiness Book of World Records. to have survived that long.  He said, "God must have fed her."  Yep.  So this Thanksgiving, I have a granddaughter who is very thankful for her cat, the miracle cat Jennifer.
